This group is responsible for advocating NEMSMA’s positions and opinions on all aspects of the paramedicine profession, including production of position papers, interaction with governmental agencies and legislatures, as well as liaison activities with other professional and trade associations or groups. Most of the work over the last year has been as individual members of the team participating in State and National advocacy in California, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas. We were well represented by the committee members and other NEMSMA board members at the EMS on the Hill Day.

ACPE is governed by a set of commissioners appointed by the NEMSMA board. There are appointed liaisons from other national EMS-related associations. The commissioners set the policies used in credentialing, work with the contracted vendor to develop and maintain exam questions, review and approve testing applications and score oral boards and portfolio submissions. The commissioners issue the credentials of SPO, MPO and FACPE.

This group is responsible for developing and maintaining NEMSMA’s conference and program accreditation process and policies.

This group is responsible for the development of sponsorship and similar funding programs, as well as the strategy for and activity of recruiting organizations—or persons—as sponsors.

This group is responsible for the development, creation and production of all educational sessions, courses and curricula, produced by, in the name of or branded as a product of NEMSMA that does not include the FTEP program or the EMS officers’ credentialing examinations preparation courses.

This group is responsible for developing research and identifying resolutions to the problem of practitioners’ mental health, physical wellbeing issues and protecting themselves against violence. This committee also promotes services and skills that improve practitioners’ physical and mental health, as well as coping with violent situations. https://emsgrit.org/

The FTEP Committee is responsible for the development, production, maintenance and coordination of NEMSMA’s FTEP program, as well as selecting and training instructors and approving regional training sites.

The Information & Technology Committee has identified the competencies needed to manage EMS data and the technology systems used in EMS. They focus on developing and managing a credentialing process that establishes a comprehensive information and technology generalist knowledge base. The Information and Technology credential is focused specifically at the Managing Officer.

This group is responsible for the development, production, maintenance and coordination of NEMSMA’s EMS Officers’ Examination Preparation program, selecting and training instructors and approving regional training sites.

This group is responsible for the development of membership recruitment, growth and retention strategies and development of sponsorship and similar funding programs, as well as the strategy for and activity of recruiting organizations—or persons—as sponsors. This committee is also responsible for the content and publication of the annual NEMSMA Membership Report.

This group is responsible for coordinating the distribution of all NEMSMA-branded content produced for the EMS media and profession, the production of the newsletter, content for the website and future association publications, including research periodicals.

This group is responsible for the development of operational and clinical service metrics for the assessment of performance, as well as improvement methodologies and mechanisms. This committee also develops a competency and credentialing process to complement NEMSMA’s current EMS Officers’ program.
